Tempo traveller or two cabs? Choosing group transport in Bengaluru

For groups of six to twenty, the vehicle choice changes both comfort and cost. A quick guide to tempo travellers, mini buses and when two cars still make sense.

BLR Cabs Team

Planning a family function, an office offsite or a temple trip with a big group raises the same question every time: one larger vehicle, or several cars?

When a tempo traveller wins

  • The group is seven or more and wants to travel together
  • There is plenty of luggage — a traveller has more room than two sedans combined
  • You are paying per vehicle for tolls and parking; one vehicle means one set of charges
  • The trip is outstation, where one driver's bata is simpler than two

When two cars make sense

  • The group splits up during the day or needs to leave at different times
  • Very narrow lanes or hill roads at the destination
  • Four to six people with light bags — an SUV or Innova usually covers it

Sizes at a glance

Tempo travellers and Urbanias come in 12- and 16-seat layouts; mini buses and coaches cover larger groups up to fifty. Push-back seats and AC are standard on our fleet. Tell us the headcount and luggage at booking and we will suggest the smallest vehicle that is genuinely comfortable.

What to confirm before you book

  • Pickup points — one pickup is fastest; multiple pickups across the city add time
  • Total kilometres and days, including local running at the destination
  • Who pays tolls, parking and interstate permits (charged at actuals)
  • Whether you need a GST invoice for company reimbursement

Get these four points right and group travel becomes the easy part of the plan.
