Route

How to reach Kukke Subramanya from Bengaluru by road

Via Hassan & Sakleshpur (recommended)

The main route from Bengaluru runs through Nelamangala, Hassan and Sakleshpur before descending through the Shiradi Ghat towards Kukke Subramanya. This is the most commonly used pilgrimage route, on good highway until the ghat section.

Combining with Dharmasthala

Many pilgrims combine this trip with Dharmasthala, roughly an hour further along a connecting road, allowing both temples to be covered in a single extended trip if time allows.

An early start, by 5 or 6 am, helps you reach the temple in time for a comfortable darshan queue and avoid the busiest midday crowds. The Shiradi Ghat section is winding with occasional traffic bottlenecks during peak pilgrimage season, so build in extra time.

Fuel up before entering the ghat stretch, as facilities are limited along the way. If staying overnight, plan to complete ghat driving before dark, as the road has sharp curves and limited lighting in places.

Season

Best time to visit Kukke Subramanya

October to March offers the most comfortable travel weather, with cooler temperatures for the drive and the temple visit, and is generally considered ideal for ritual visits.

The monsoon (June–September) brings heavy rain to the Shiradi Ghat section, occasionally affecting road conditions, so pilgrims travelling then should check current conditions and allow extra travel time.
