Route

How to reach Sakleshpur from Bengaluru by road

Via NH75 through Hassan (recommended)

The direct route runs from Bengaluru through Nelamangala, Kunigal, Channarayapatna and Hassan on NH75, then turns towards Sakleshpur. This is the fastest and most reliable option, staying on national highway for most of the distance with a shorter estate-road stretch at the end.

Via Kunigal & Belur (alternative)

Travellers combining Sakleshpur with a Belur–Halebidu temple visit can branch off near Hassan towards Belur before doubling back towards Sakleshpur. It adds roughly 45 minutes but works well if the Hoysala temples are also on your list.

Leaving Bengaluru by 7 am gets you into Sakleshpur in time for lunch, with the NH75 stretch to Hassan being smooth and fast. The final approach into the estate roads around Sakleshpur is narrower, so plan to reach before dusk if unfamiliar with the area.

Fuel up at Hassan before heading into the estate roads, as options thin out closer to Sakleshpur town. Monsoon-season trekking routes can be slippery, so check with your homestay on current trail conditions before setting out.

Tips

Travel tips for a Sakleshpur road trip

  • A sedan works well for small groups; monsoon trekking groups often prefer an Ertiga or Innova Crysta for the estate roads.
  • Carry proper trekking shoes and rain gear if visiting during the monsoon trekking season.
  • Network coverage is patchy in the deeper estate areas — inform your homestay of your arrival time in advance.
  • FASTag covers highway tolls; keep some cash handy as backup.
  • Book homestays ahead for monsoon weekends, when trekking demand is highest.
  • Confirm current trail conditions with local guides before any monsoon trek.
